Project Will Close Indian-Evergreen Intersection For 1 Week

The intersection of Indian and Evergreen Roads will be closed for one week starting Monday, Aug. 7, as crews replace the brick crosswalk pavers in the intersection.

The old bricks, which have degraded over time, will be replaced by stamped, stained concrete that will simulate the look of the bricks used in the old crosswalk.

The project will cost $39,000. The project will be handled by PHC, Inc., the contractor handling the reconstruction of Manchester Road.

The Manchester project is proceeding as planned, and will be complete prior to the start of school, according to Village officials.

Village Administrator Marc Thompson said the condition of the material under the old road was better than anticipated, so crews have been able to use the savings to offset more extensive sidewalk repairs along the street.
